Microchiping

The best thing you can do to protect your dog is to be a responsible owner and have him/her microchip. Microchips are designed to last for the life of a dog, no need to be charged or replaced and completely permanent. I think micro chipping your pet is a great idea; despite the "flaw" in the tracking scanners. Each microchip company have their own radio frequency, therefore not every scanner is compatible with a particular chip. The microchip companies ARE working together on a universal frequency however. Micro chipping is relatively new technology and consequently have "bugs" to be ironed out. Despite this varied frequency problem, micro chipping your pet is a sound idea. As the FAQ stated, dog tags can fall off or simply be removed by the thief. When it comes to your pet, there is no such thing as to much protection; after all, they ARE a family member.
